Frequently asked questions

How does the Apprenticeship work?

During the 12-month Apprenticeship, apprentices have 4 hours of live training and 5-10 additional hours per week to work on projects from their FT placement, receive expert training, coaching and mentoring to further develop their technical and leadership skills. The apprentices are fasted tracked to earn additional certificates and up to 30 credit hours towards completion of Bachelor’s Degree.

How do TechPoint and NEW find their talented apprentices?

We partner with organizations in the community that share our mission of transforming lives through career advancement. Educational institutions like high schools and community colleges, local Workforce Boards, Talent Development initiatives, networking groups, military transition organizations and other non-
profits are some examples.

What happens when the apprentice completes the program?

If the apprentice is on a 12-month contract-to-hire role, the employer would negotiate a salary for the apprentice to join their team as a full-time employee. If the partner is the employer of record from the beginning, then that apprentice would continue with the company in that role or another based on last evaluation (promotion etc.).
