NEW Learning Paths
NEW has 2 different learning paths, Cohort and Self-Starter, depending on the apprenticeship role you work. The experience is different, however, both methods deliver the same amazing quality education!
2 Learning Paths

FAQ
Is the Self-Starter Path more challenging than the Cohort path?
We have 8 programs for the Self-Starter path and 3 programs for the Cohort path. Depending on your preferred learning style it may be easier or more difficult to participate in one of the paths.
Is there a cost difference between the Cohort Path and the Self-Starter Path?
Nope. Both are no cost to you!
Once I start the apprenticeship program, would I be able to switch to being in a cohort if I didn't like the Self-Starter Path or vice versa?
No. The path is determined by the employer and apprenticeship program.
Is it possible for me to finish the apprenticeship earlier if I take the Self-Starter Path over the Cohort Path?
No. You’ll complete the apprenticeship program in the same amount of time as the Cohort Path, which is 12 months.
Is the Self-Starter Path completely solo or will I have opportunities to work with others at times?
It is not completely solo as you will be guided once per week by your coach and learning facilitator, and once a month you will participate in a coaching session with up to 15 other apprentices.
Do I get to choose which learning path I want to take?
No. The learning path is determined by the employer and apprenticeship program.
Is it possible to do the Self-Starter path remotely?
It will depend on the employer on how the work arrangements will go, most likely you will need to be in-person.
Is Individualized learning or group learning better? What are the advantages of both?
One style of learning is not necessarily better than the other as they both help you reach the same ultimate goal and deliver high-quality education.
Individualized learning (1-3 participants) will give you the benefit of more personal attention from the facilitator during your session with them and will require you to do more self-study than the alternative learning style.
Group learning will give you the benefit of having the opportunity to consistently work with other fellow apprentices, share each others’ insights and learn from one another, and complete the apprenticeship together. There will be more sessions that you will need to attend per week than the alternative learning style.
